Just two days after the USA marked the 8th anniversary of the 9/11/01 attacks on America, Al Qaeda leader and terror mastermind Osama Bin Laden has released a disturbing 11-minute audio message which was syndicated by As-Sahab, Al-Qaeda’s media propagandist wing.The recording was then distributed to Jihadist/Islamist websites who have carried past Al Qaeda messages.

The audio message was delivered in video format, but just contained audio over a still image of Bin Laden. The message was in Arabic, however, CNN and other news outlets have translated and posted several quotes from the video:

“To the American people, this is my message to you: a reminder of the reasons behind 9/11 and the wars and the repercussions that followed and the way to resolve it…”

“From the beginning, we have stated many times … that the cause of our disagreement with you is your support of your allies, the Israelis, who are occupying our land in Palestine. Your stance along with some other grievances are what led us to carry out the events of 9/11.”

“Prolong the wars as much as you like. By God, we will never compromise on it (Palestine), ever.”

“The time has come for you to liberate yourselves from fear and the ideological terrorism of neo-conservatives and the Israeli lobby,”

“If you stop the war, then fine. Otherwise we will have no choice but to continue our war of attrition on every front [...] If you choose safety and stopping wars, as opinion polls show you do, then we are ready to respond to this,”

Bin Laden also calls attention to the new White House and expresses disappointment with keeping troops in the Middle East and retaining some of Bush/Cheney’s old staff, such as Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

While none of the major networks have confirmed that it actually is bin Laden speaking, many terror and military experts have already weighed in and said that it is, in fact, the elusive leader of one of the largest terrorist operations in the world. Still thought to be hiding in a mountain cave along the Afghanistan/Pakistan border, Osama continues to elude everyone who has ever searched for him, even with a $50 million dollar bounty on his head.
